Brookfield Citizens Against Injection Wells protest the five injection wells approved to be built on property across Route 7 from the home of 86-year-old Shirley Mosora on Wednesday, May 2. Trucks that are part of the construction process can be seen coming out of the property, which is owned by well developer Highland Field Services LLC. Mrs. Mosora said she allowed the protestors to stand on her property, and was among them when the wind and heat didn’t get the better of her. She said she has been trying to sell her property, which includes a pond stocked with fish, tillable land and woodlands, but potential buyers said they have decided against it because of the wells. Highland spokesman Rob Boulware said the equipment to drill the first well is being moved to the property this week.
