Jenga and a rock wall should give kids more to do at Summer Fest on Aug. 10 and 11 in Brookfield Center.
By Jenga, the Summer Fest committee is talking about a larger version of the board game in which players build a tower with wooden blocks and remove one block at a time, trying not to be the one that makes the tower topple. These blocks will be made from 2-by-4s and the tower will be about four feet high.
“I thought it was something teens can do, something different for them,” Summer Fest Committee Co-Chairman Karen Saker said at a June 19 planning meeting.

Karen Saker finds something funny as T.J. Mohney, seated, and Jim Hoffman III discuss the layout of Summer Fest, which is held on the green in Brookfield Center. Also shown are Becky Hoffman and Cameron Mohney.

But, she said, the attraction shouldn’t be limited to teens.
“That’s one of those things: somebody starts and everyone else gets involved,” said committee member Paula Kirila.
Co-Chairman T.J. Mohney said he expects everyone will want to try to climb the rock wall.
“That line will be crazy,” he said.
Although the rock wall will be popular, it also will be expensive at $400 a day. To offset the cost, the committee will charge $2 a person for a climb.
The bounce house and silly slide, always popular attractions with kids, still will be free.
