Masury customers of Aqua Ohio will see a reduction in their water bills based on a Dec. 19 ruling handed down by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
Residential water bills will fall by about 16 percent a month for the first year and 6 percent a month thereafter, the PUCO said.
The reductions reflect the tax breaks water companies received in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Customers are being credited for the amounts they were overcharged since Jan 1, 2018, when the act lowered tax rates.
The action follows increases the PUCO granted in March and November to account for improvements to water lines Aqua had made.
