Brookfield Township has closed Addison Road between Broadway Avenue and Bedford Road to all but local traffic to keep big trucks from going up the steep, mostly slag thoroughfare.
Ohio Department of Transportation has closed the westbound lanes of Route 82 between Addison Road and Bedford Road for a culvert replacement project, and motorists at the southern end of the closure had started detouring on Addison instead of following the posted detour to Route 62, said township Road Supt. Jaime Fredenburg.
Route 82 was closed starting July 12, but the detour does not say that Route 82 is closed or why it is closed, he said.
Fredenburg said he would contact project engineers about the problems with the detour.
Route 82 is scheduled to be closed into early August, and then the top coat of asphalt for a repaving project will be applied, Fredenburg said.
