Brookfield police have obtained arrest warrants for two men charged with entering unlocked vehicles on Superior Street and stealing loose items.

Scott E. Douglas, 32, of New Castle, and Rawdale R. Atwood, 31, of Columbus, each have been charged with multiple misdemeanor counts of theft and criminal mischief.

The thefts occurred Nov. 20, and were initially reported by a woman whose wallet was stolen from her vehicle, police said. She had video from which police were able to get a clothing description of a subject.

A neighbor reported that five to seven vehicles had been gone through and change had been stolen, police said.

The first victim’s wallet was found nearby in a ditch with $109 missing from it, police said.

Police obtained photos of the suspects from video surveillance at a local store, showing a man wearing similar clothing to the man in the victim’s video. Police posted the photos on Facebook. A citizen identified one of the men as Atwood, while Sharon police and another citizen identified Douglas, police said. Police said the men had tattoos, which aided in their identification.
