A Brookfield man found guilty by a jury of burglary and assault has been sentenced to prison.

Christopher P. Ferragonio, 29, of 1200 E. Park Drive, was sentenced Aug. 3 to 2 to 3 years in prison by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald J. Rice.

Rice had presided over a two-day trial July 18 and 19.

Brookfield police said Ferragonio went to a neighbor’s home Dec. 13 and asked if his girlfriend was there. He claimed he had seen the woman enter the neighbor’s home, police said.

The 25-year-old neighbor denied that the woman was in the home, but Ferragonio blocked the door with his foot when the neighbor tried to close it, police said.

The men scuffled with Ferragonio punching the man several times, police said. Ferragonio pushed his way into the home but did not find the woman there, and left, police said.

Ferragonio both admitted and denied entering the home, police said.
