A Brookfield parent has reached out to Highland Field Services LLC, the company that wants to build five injection wells in the township to dispose of oil and gas drilling waste water, and asked them to donate money to a township cause.
Monica Fortuna said she told a Highland representative that such a donation would counter some of the bad press the company has received from anti-well advocates and create an “ongoing, positive presence in our community.”
Supporting Brookfield Middle School Principal Toby Gibson’s desire to expand programming in science, technology, engineering and math, the school has submitted a wish list of STEM-related items, said school Superintendent Velina Jo Taylor.
“The wish list is about $10,000 in wishes,” Taylor said.
