Rescue workers were called to the scene of a tree-cutting accident on Collar Price Road Tuesday, April 10, where a worker fell 40 feet to the ground.

Brookfield firefighters transported to a hospital a man who fell about 40 feet to the ground this morning.

“He was lucky,” said Assistant Fire Chief Kenny Johnson, who said the soft ground cushioned the man’s fall.
The man was an independent contractor hired by Sawtelle Tree Service, and he fell at a home at 933 Collar Price Road SE, said Brookfield firefighters and a company representative.
In an earlier post, NEWS On the Green incorrectly stated his employment status.
Firefighters said the man was in his 30s but that they could not otherwise identify him because off the federal HIPAA law that bars disclosure of medical information by a medical service provider.
The call came in at 10:41 a.m.
