Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s Office has been in the Valley View Drive area of Brookfield this week, examining the condition of the sanitary sewer lines. The truck shown here holds a TV camera that slithers into sewer lines and laterals (the pipes connecting homes to main sewer lines) to look for areas where surface water could be getting into the lines, such as through cracks, broken joints or tree roots; clogs caused by grease or other debris: and illegal connections. The sanitary engineer’s office decided to undertake the probe in response to Brookfield trustees reaching out to try to find a fix to flooding problems in the area. The trustees also want plans to fix flooding not believed to be related to the sanitary sewer system in the Wildwood and Northview drives area of the Valley View development, and lower Masury, particularly on Second and Third streets.
