UPDATE: On March 6m the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce announced that ‘Boost Your Biz’ had been canceled.
Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce and Butler County Community College will present “Boost Your Biz”, a one-day conference focused on the challenges of managing a business in a rust belt community, on March 8 in BC3’s LindenPointe campus in Hermitage.
The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes classes on using social media to promote business, grant writing, micro loans, podcasting, recruitment and hiring and starting a business.
“One of the main goals of the conference is to provide opportunities for local businesses that don’t always have the time or resources to travel far for business development training,” explained Sherris Moreira, executive director of the chamber. “We have a lot of local talent here that can help give our business community a hand up and are excited to be involved.”
PS Pinchot-Swogger Publishing LLC, which publishes NEWS On the Green, will present the class “Tips for Book Publishing.” PS Pinchot-Swogger Publishing LLC recently published Nancy Boldish Tusinac’s cookbook “A Clarencedale Year: 52 Ways to Live the Sweet Life.”
Tusinac will be a vendor at the conference will provide tasty treats.
Some of the other presenters will include Blissed Out Design of Sharon; Gannon University, Erie; Bill Dodd of Mud-Hut Studio, Sharon; Kiva of Pittsburgh; and DOYO Live of Youngstown.
Featured presenter and keynote speaker will be Deanna Fusillo of Sassy Girl Media LLC, Youngstown. She will participate in a panel discussion on “Entrepreneurial Mindset” and preside over classes on going live with Instagram and Facebook and the basics of web site design.
“I’m looking forward to bringing knowledge and strategies to business owners that will help them launch and grow their business,” Fusillo said.
Various local businesses and business development agencies will set up booths to show their wares and explain how they can help local businesses.
Tickets are $75 each, which grants admission to up to four classes and one of two panel discussions, and covers lunch and three months of online entrepreneurial classes with Fusillo.
