Township workers this year are scheduled to embark on a storm sewer improvement project on Rose Avenue in Masury using state Issue 1 grant funds.
Road Superintendent Jaime Fredenburg said he would like to apply for another Issue 1 grant to pave Rose, Service, Budd and Charles streets; widen the sections west of Broadway Avenue; and improve storm water drainage, particularly on Budd Street.
He said he is hoping the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office will help him by agreeing to be a partner in the application, which would award the application more points by the Issue 1 committee that considers the grants.
promoThe county owns the section of Budd Street between Broadway Avenue and the vacant Green Parrot bar building, which is about 1,000 feet long, Fredenburg said. The township has to use the county-owned section to get its snow plow truck to other township roads, he said.
“In return, then we would take that road over” from the county and maintain it, Fredenburg said.
Trustee Dan Suttles said it doesn’t make sense that the county owns part of Budd Street.
