Brookfield school officials said they are looking into the cost of fencing off the bus garage in response to the second theft of batteries from school buses.
The latest incident occurred Aug. 10 or 11 when 23 batteries were stolen. The total loss, which included damage to buses, was $3,000, said Treasurer Craig Yaniglos.
In the previous theft, about a dozen batteries were stolen.
Brookfield police are investigating, school officials said.
