Trumbull County commissioners recently submitted applications for state funding for two projects that would benefit Masury and Yankee Lake.
In a multi-municipal paving project, the county would resurface Idlewild West Road – also known as Hubbard Masury Road and Standard Avenue – between Route 82 and Bedford Road, according to the Dec. 3 motion. Eight roads in other parts of the county also would be improved. The estimated total project cost is $3.4 million, with the money coming from federal and state grants, local funds and other sources.
The commissioners also sought approval for a $2.4 million project to extend sanitary sewer service to much of Yankee Lake and parts of Yankee Run Road in Masury. State Sen. Sean O’Brien secured $1.5 million in the state budget, and the rest of the money would come from a state grant and a state no-interest loan.
The commissioners’ action approved entering contracts with the Ohio Public Works Commission, which would provide grant funding for both projects.
