Brookfield Local School District issued this statement on March 12:
“Our district will cancel school for students on Friday, March 13, 2020 and Monday, March 16, 2020, to give our staff time to prepare for an extended spring break. Effective Friday, all school activities, including extracurricular events and athletic practices/games will also be cancelled. Beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020, we will follow the directive of Governor Mike DeWine and close our school district for at least three weeks.”
Brookfield Supt. Toby Gibson was meeting with Trumbull County superintendents and officials from the Trumbull County Educational Services Center to discuss Gov. DeWine’s press conference and his order to close schools for three weeks. The superintendents watched the press conference together.
