Brookfield school Supt. Toby Gibson on March 29 announced changes to the school’s grab-and-go lunch program, which was instituted to provide food while school is closed due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The school will provide lunch only two days a week, but has added to stops where people can pick up lunches.
“We are making adjustments to our lunch service to minimize exposure to COVID-19,” Gibson said in a telephone call to parents and guardians.
Lunches will only be provided Mondays and Wednesdays, dropping Fridays from the schedule. They can be picked up at the rear of the school between 11 a.m. and noon, at Brookfield Acres and Addison Field from 11 to 11:30 a.m.; and at the corners of Miller Street and Standard Avenue and Syme and Ohio Streets from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
New to the schedule: lunches can be picked up between 10:30 and 11 a.m. at Stevenson Heights and Yankee Run Golf Course.
“We will provide the same amount of food, just fewer delivery days,” Gibson said.
