Brookfield Township has been awarded a nearly $2,400 Go Green grant from Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District to fund four neighborhood litter cleanups.
Residents will be asked to come out on specific days and pick up the garbage in their neighborhoods.
promo“This is a great opportunity to partner with people who live in four different areas in our community by involving them in beautifying and maintaining litter-free neighborhoods, where children can play safely and residents can take pride in where they live,” said Trustee Dan Suttles, who was informed of the grant award June 10.
The four areas that will be targeted are: Valley View; West Hill north of Warren Sharon Road; West Hill south of Warren Sharon Road and Stevenson Heights.
The $2,343 grant will be used to buy vests, gloves, bags, pointed sticks and other items for the cleanup participants to use, and 30-yard rolloff containers. The township road crew will collect the bags of garbage.
Suttles said the district will send out particulars on the grant later in the month, and the cleanup days will be announced later.
