A Masury woman has been charged with felony theft for allegedly stealing more than $8,000 from Sparkle Market in Brookfield when she worked there, police said.
Brittany E. Banjak, 31, of 8230 Superior St., was charged based on video that a Sparkle official said shows her stealing money and an audit of her cash register, police said.
Sparkle, 7229 Warren Sharon Road, reported that their information “appears to indicate a pattern of theft,” police said. The total suspected loss is $8,073.
Police were notified June 29.
Banjak has not been arraigned on the charge.
UPDATE: Prosecutors filed a motion May 14, 2021, to end prosecution of the case due to Banjak’s death.
