Brookfield Local School District has reported its second case of a student who has tested positive for COVID-19.

School Supt. Toby Gibson said in an email Nov. 16 that it had been informed that a middle school student had tested positive for the disease caused by the coronavirus.

“Through discussions with the Trumbull County Combined Health District, we have identified possible ‘contacts’ (individuals who were closer than six feet for 15 minutes or more), those individuals or families have been contacted by phone in regards to their possible exposure,” Gibson said.

promoGibson informed parents Oct. 3 that an elementary student had tested positive, although there had been no school contacts with the student.

The email listed symptoms of COVID-19, ways to prevent its spread and encouraged parents to model appropriate behavior.

“The Brookfield Local School District will continue to follow all COVID-related safety procedures including the use of facial coverings, social distancing, good hygiene and cleaning practices,” Gibson said.
