Stacey Filicky did not pick up a single egg at the Brookfield Parents Association Easter egg hunt at Brookfield Elementary School.
As the principal of the school, the fact that she was able to watch her students spread out on the soccer practice field behind the school, in sunny, warm weather to collect eggs filled with goodies was as satisfying as actually popping one of those candies into her mouth.
promo“I feel like a normal person, for once, having fun,” Filicky said.
This was the first in-school BPA activity held since the COVID-19 pandemic began last March.
Brookfield High School’s Student Council, Interact Club and Future Teachers of America loaded the eggs with treats such as raisins, Sour Patch Kids, Twix bars and Starburst.
If health conditions allow, the BPA is hoping to have end-of-year activities, said President Nikki Jervis.
