Brookfield Twp. Police Dept.’s 2021 Report
In 2021, the department responded to 6,877 calls, up from 6,609 calls in 2020. In the following breakdown of the year-end report, 2020 figures are in parentheses.
- Officers wrote 1,220 (1,045) reports – including 1,077 (946) incident reports and 143 (119) crash reports.
- Officers made 339 (341) arrests – including 66 (98) were drug-related; 14 (22) were for theft, burglary or breaking and entering; 68 (65) on warrants; and 27 (same) for assault or domestic violence.
- Officers issued 579 (428) traffic citations – including 106 (116) for driving under suspension or without a license; 22 (same) for operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and 208 (112) for speeding.
The department also investigated these reports:
- Burglary or breaking and entering, 20 (11).
- Theft, 121 (136).
- Identity theft, 88 (13). This increase was mainly due to unemployment fraud reports early in the year.
- Robbery, 2 (5).
- Disturbance or fight, 92 (94).
- Suspicious activity, 131 (139).
- Suspicious person, 53 (78).
- Suspicious vehicle, 128 (117).
- Traffic or parking complaints, 215 (239).
- Disabled vehicle assists, 141 (175).
- Animal complaints, 177 (188).
- Alarm drops, 227 (214).
Members of the department patrolled 135,714 (128,827) miles and used 9,686 (8,928) gallons of gas.
