The previously announced dates for the Brookfield Township Cemetery cleanup have been changed.

The township had announced that cemetery workers would remove all flowers, urns and other decorations from graves April 15-20, but Cemetery Sexton Jaime Fredenburg said he forgot to account for Easter, which is April 17. Township policy requires that the cleanup not be held one week before or after Easter.

Instead, workers will be out April 6-8.

“If you have anything at the cemetery, make sure you get it off” graves, he said.

Fredenburg noted that workers will be on the lookout for Easter decorations, and do not plan to remove them. “If you already put Easter stuff on, we can tell, usually, it’s Easter and we’ll leave it.”
