A Sharon woman has been charged in a crash in which a Masury man died.

Chantel M. Georgalas, 25, has been charged by Farrell police with homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence of marijuana and 10 other charges related to the Nov. 9 crash that killed Kevin Sevacko, 40.

Georgalas waived the charges to court at a preliminary hearing April 28, and was arraigned in Mercer County Common Pleas Court on June 28. She is held in Mercer County Jail.

The crash of a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Nissan Rogue occurred at Mercer and Indiana avenues. Sevacko, who was driving the motorcycle, died at the scene, police said. The driver of the Rogue was seen getting out of the car, walking over to Sevacko, rolling him over, saying, “Oh, my God” and then walking west on Mercer Avenue, police said.

promoThe car had a strong smell of marijuana and a suspected marijuana blunt was found on the driver’s seat, police said.

The owner of the car, a West Middlesex woman, said she had lent the car to a woman she knew as “Nena,” so Nena could run errands, police said.

During the investigation, witnesses came forward who identified Georgalas, her address, and her movements shortly after the crash, police said. Video and cellphone information also allowed the reconstruction of her movements the day of the crash, police said.

An analysis of the driver’s airbag turned up DNA that matched Georgalas, said police, who received the report April 1.
