Lori Henning, left, and Kathy Pasquerilla make points to Brookfield Road Supt. Jaime Fredenburg, in hat, and their attorney, James Hoffman III, at a Sept. 29 public viewing, a step in the request by Henning, Pasquerilla and others to vacate a portion of Jessie Road in the Stevenson Heights neighborhood.

Trumbull County Commissioners held a public hearing Oct. 5, and denied the request later in the day. Commissioner Niki Frenchko said the Ohio Revised Code gave the commissioners no choice but to deny the request after Brookfield trustees passed a resolution opposing it.

Henning had previously said she would sue the township if the vacation was not granted, but Fredenburg held out hope that a compromise could be reached if accommodations were made for snowplows to turn around.
