Brookfield Township Historical Society has started a Facebook page, and officials plan to post photos from its archives with a hope that people will identify some of the people and places in the photos.

The society has their photos posted on Catalogit, but there is little if any information for many of them.

President Barbara Stevens said the society also has started scanning documents such as deeds and death certificates, which eventually will be posted on Catalogit.

The society next meets at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at Briceland Funeral Service, 379 Route 7, Brookfield. Gabe Illes, a World War II re-enactor, will present a program.

Cindee Mines, left, and Mary Jane Vennitti of the Howland Historical Society discuss the relocation of the historic Yellow House in Howland. Believed to be the oldest home in Howland, the building stood in the way of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s plans to upgrade the intersections of routes 82 and 46. They gave a history of the house, and detailed the bureaucracy they had to wade through to get the move approved and what it was like on moving day.
