For the second year in a row, Brookfield Local School District earned a perfect 4.0 on its special education report card, said district Special Education Coordinator Jeri Hamilton.
The report card measures how well school staff meet deadlines set by the Ohio Department of Education, how accurately it reports data and how timely it prepares and updates Individualized Education Program reports, she said.
“We have met requirements for two years in a row, and this is based on seven indicators,” Hamilton said. “In each indicator, we have scored that 4.0. We obviously want to keep on that same track.”
Brookfield has about 160 special education students, which includes a number of preschool students not yet enrolled in the district who have been referred to the district by Help me Grow, an agency that serves children with developmental delays and disabilities, Hamilton said.
