Brookfield Township Historic Commission is accepting applications for its veterans banner program.

The program creates banners honoring people who have served or are serving in the military. The banners are initially hung in the township administration building, and eventually moved to display poles on the green in Brookfield Center from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The first six banners created this year will fly on the green in 2024.

The banners cost $80 a piece.

Information needed for the banners include the full name of the person honored, the years the person served, the branch of the service the person served in, a summary of the vet’s service, a photo that measures at least four inches by six inches and a phone number for the person buying the banner. The photo will not be returned.

Information can be emailed to Brookfield Trustee Shannon Devitz, who designs the banners, at Shannon_love2003@yahoo.com or mailed to Brookfield Township, Attn: Historic Commission, 6844 Strimbu Drive, Brookfield, Ohio, 44403.

Banners for anyone emailing information will be started once payment has been received.

Submissions are being accepted until 4 p.m. April 14.
