Trumbull County commissioners on March 22 acknowledged receipt of a resolution from Brookfield trustees asking to rename the county No. 10 bridge on Warren Sharon Road, east of Yankee Run Golf Course, as Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The renaming would honor Marine Lance Cpl. Mcarthur Coleman; Army Staff Sgt. Martin Walker Jr.; and Army Pfc. Paul E. Good.

The next step is to hold a public hearing, which has been set for 10 a.m. April 19 at the commissioners’ officer in Warren.

“Trumbull County has a very, very rich history when it comes to this,” said Commissioner Mauro Cantalamessa. “In Ohio, there’s not another county that has more bridges named after our veterans, whether it be our Gulf War veterans, our Vietnam veterans, our World War II veterans. We want to continue in that tradition. We want to commemorate and honor our veterans, and this is a way that we do it.”
