A Masury man was sentenced to a short jail term for his conviction on domestic violence.
Nicholas E. Stiles, 36, of 8057 Pacific St., pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to a misdemeanor charge, reduced from a felony. Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald J. Rice sentenced him Feb. 23 to 90 days in jail.
Stiles and the victim, a 33-year-old woman, argued on Oct. 5 over a girl Stiles had talked to at his former home on Atlantic Street in Masury, Brookfield police said. The woman, who was pregnant, said Stiles prevented her from leaving and then chased her outside, hitting her on the head, police said. Police said they could feel an egg-sized bump on her head.
Stiles also caused a small cut on the woman’s hand, police said.
