The former Knights of Columbus building at 490 Nicholas St. in Masury has been barely used for years. Cory DeLong is hoping to change that.

DeLong has remodeled the inside of the building and opened it as DeLong’s Banquet Hall for mid-sized and small gatherings.

“I’m always looking for something to invest in,” said DeLong, of Kinsman. “That’s how this came about – something extra for the portfolio.”

DeLong’s business portfolio includes DeLong’s Sewer and Drains, DeLong’s Rental Properties and DeLong’s Portable Restrooms.

After getting the keys to the banquet hall four months ago, DeLong had the water turned on, replaced the lighting fixtures, patched the roof, replaced the stove, bought a deep fryer, refinished the floors, installed ceiling fans, painted and put up exterior lights. That’s not all he wants to do.

“Once we get some money back, we’ll put some money back in it,” he said.

DeLong has hosted or is planning to host weddings, holiday parties, birthday parties, graduation parties, benefit dinners and a holiday craft show. His largest gathering attracted about 150 people, and it packed the place, he said.

“Everything ‘s been good, so far,” DeLong said, but his marketing plan has been limited to word-of-mouth and a couple of advertising signs.

“When you Google ‘banquet hall,’ you don’t even know this one exists, now,” DeLong said, noting that he is working to upgrade the hall’s online presence.

The hall is available for a $350 rental fee, with $50 returned upon cleaning.

For information or to book the hall, call DeLong at 724-866-1350.
