Brookfield’s two trucking companies have been awarded Ohio tax credits to help pay for driver training for existing and potential employees.
Nick Strimbu Inc. and PI&I Motor Express Inc. each were awarded $25,000 through the Commercial Driver’s License Training Program, said the Ohio Department of Development.
The program was created to “help alleviate the cost of training for Ohio employees and CDL drivers and upskill current and future employees,” the department said.
Gov. Mike DeWine said the program aims to fill worker shortages and help workers keep pace with changes in modern commercial vehicles.
Credentials must be for Class A or B CDLs and endorsements issued by Ohio.
