Brookfield Township voters will face a police department levy renewal request on the November ballot.
Township placed the levy on the ballot by approving a resolution May 6.
The 2-mill levy was first passed in 2004 and lasts for five years.
“We did it as a five-year levy just to keep us answering, making sure we’re doing the best we can with your tax dollars,” said Police Chief Dan Faustino. “Makes us responsive to you and shows you we do the things we say we would do.”
The levy is crucial to the department’s finances, accounting for about 25 percent of the budget, Faustino said.
The levy was last approved in 2019 by 710-325 votes.
