A Sharon man has been imprisoned for twice breaking into a Masury home and stealing items, including wrapped Christmas gifts that had been provided through a Brookfield school program.
David E. Brock Jr., 31, was sentenced April 25 to 2 to 3 years in prison by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean O’Brien. Brock had pleaded guilty April 25 to three counts of burglary.
The first report was filed Dec. 5 from a home on Second Street, police said. Brock pried open a window to get inside, and stole a video game system and accessories, a child’s backpack and $650.
Brock entered the same house Dec. 21 and stole the Christmas gifts, an electric lunchbox, an iPad case, vehicle floor mats, a flannel jacket and a safe, police said. The resident provided video footage of Brock, whom she recognized, and police were able to use it to positively identify Brock, police said.
Brock was on house arrest out of Mercer County at the time and Pennsylvania Probation and Parole were able to use the GPS locator in the ankle bracelet to confirm that Brock had been at the house that was burglarized.
