Trumbull County commissioners have extended the substantial completion date for the Yankee Lake sewer extension project from Oct. 11 to Dec. 31.

“We had some supply chain issues regarding the components for the pump station that warranted giving him (Kirila Contractors Inc. of Brookfield) a time extension on the contract,” said county Sanitary Engineer Gary Newbrough.

The pump station is under construction on Brockway Avenue in the village.

Kirila has completed installation of sewer line along Yankee Run Road in Masury and is about 90 percent complete in the village, Newbrough said.

Residents of Yankee Run Road soon will receive letters informing them to connect their homes to the sewer lines, he said.

The commissioners on Oct. 9 approved the third change order for the project, increasing the contract with Kirila by $96,680 to $2,583,597. The change order was made to fix Yankee Run Road where the edge of the pavement had collapsed; remove and replace storm sewer pipe that was not shown on any map; and add an air release valve to a manhole.
