A 61-year-old man has been arrested for the aggravated murder of a 65-year-old woman in Masury.
John Zanolli was booked into the Trumbull County Jail today in the death of Janice Zanolli.
Brookfield police said they were dispatched at 10:15 a.m. to 7938 Third St. for a welfare check. Janice Zanolli was found dead from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
John Zanolli was found elsewhere in the house sitting with a rifle to his head and threatening to kill himself, police said.
“After approximately 30 minutes of negotiating with John Zanolli, officers were able to to successfully deploy Tasers and, after a brief struggle, remove the firearm from him,” police said.
A check of records at Trumbull County Eastern District Court and Trumbull County Common Pleas Court turned up no previous criminal cases involving John Zanolli.
Police said the Zanollis lived in the home.
