Brookfield Twp. Fire Dept.’s 2024 report
Brookfield Township Fire Department answered 2,407 calls for service in 2024, up from 2,221 calls in 2023 and 2,131 in 2022. The calls broke down this way, with 2023 numbers in parentheses:
- Emergency medical, 1,926 (1,654). Medical calls made up 80 percent of all calls.
- Motor vehicle crashes, 98 (100).
- Structure fires, 57 (53).
- Vehicle fires, 9 (15)
- Other fires, 70 (64).
- Wires and/or trees down, 94 (191).
- Fire alarm investigations, 52 (41).
- Service-related calls, including gas leaks, carbon monoxide and smoke investigations and public assists, 89 (103).
- Mutual aid calls to other jurisdictions: 346 (190).
- Mutual aid by other departments into Brookfield, 224 (187).
- Hartford runs: 272 (337). Medical calls made up 190 of those runs.
I am a 1964 graduate of Brookfield. I was a volunteer fireman for a few years back then and proud of it. I wasn’t as active I would have liked but was proud to be with the department. I was taught a lot about fire safety .
