United Contractors of Brookfield has started renovating an office building for the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The $1.2 million contract awarded in December includes gutting the building and building a new corporate office-style interior, said Dave Snyder of the architectural firm Baker, Bednar and Snyder Associates of Warren.
United’s bid was the lowest of several proposals, Snyder said.
The building was built in the ’70s and is “very dated,” he said.
The board’s employees have been moved to another building on the site for the duration of the project, which is expected to be finished in the fall, Snyder said.
