A former Masury woman accused of leaving seven kids home alone has resolved her criminal case.

Brianna F. Daye, 29, of Youngstown, pleaded guilty Feb. 13 in Trumbull County Eastern District Court to two counts of endangering children and no contest to a third count. Prosecutors asked for the dismissal of four other counts upon her stipulation that there was probable cause for the charges to be filed. All of the charges were misdemeanors.

Judge Marty Nosich sentenced Daye to the 7 days she already had spent a jail, a $100 fine and 2 years of probation.

Brookfield police responded to Daye’s then-apartment in the 8100 block of Addison Road on Oct. 31 and found the children, who were ages 2 to 10. Daye is the mother of two of the children and aunt to the rest.

Daye told police she had left the children with a friend but “gave very little info on the friend,” police said.

Brookfield police called in the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department to investigate because the sheriff’s office handles investigations for the Trumbull County Children’s Services Board.

In a separate incident, Daye was charged with criminal trespass for being on the premises of the apartment complex on Jan. 29 after she had been told she is not allowed to be there. Prosecutors asked for the dismissal of the charge upon her stipulation of probable cause.
