Wind Point Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm, has bought SIGMA Companies International Corp., which operates a high-density polyethylene manufacturing facility at 6315 Warren Sharon Road in Brookfield.

Founded in 1985, SIGMA manufactures and supplies waterworks infrastructure products including fittings, pipe restraints, municipal construction castings, polymer enclosures and accessories for the water and wastewater industries and other infrastructure sectors. SIGMA is headquartered in Cream Ridge, N.J.

In a press release issued April 10, Wind Point said SIGMA’s senior leadership team will continue and has retained a “meaningful ownership stake.”

“We plan to work closely with SIGMA’s leadership to further invest in the team and their capabilities, including product line expansion and complementary M&A (mergers and acquisitions),” said Peter Leemputte, principal at Wind Point. “SIGMA has a strong reputation with its customers for delivering quality products that are critical components to waterworks infrastructure. We believe our involvement and investment will further enable the Company to deliver an increasingly strong value proposition.”

“The need for waterworks infrastructure products is as strong as it’s ever been, which demands an unwavering commitment to quality and the customer experience,” said SIGMA President Larry Rybacki. “In partnership with Wind Point, SIGMA is well-positioned to support our customers and the next phase of growth for our industry.”

SIGMA opened its Brookfield plant in 2021.
