The Ohio Department of Transportation’s project to mill and pave Route 7 between Drake Stateline Road in Hartford and Route 82 in Brookfield is expected to begin in mid-June, an ODOT spokesman said. Milling actually could begin as early as June 9, but that is dependent on the weather and how quickly contractor Shelly and Sands of Zanesville completes a current project, said township Road Supt. Jaime Fredenburg.

The $1.5 million Route 7 project should take three to four weeks to complete, ODOT said. After the road is milled, a tar-and-chip layer will be laid before a final asphalt layer is put down.

The bridge north of Yankee Lake will be resurfaced after the rest of the road is paved, extending the one-way status at the bridge, Fredenburg said.
