KMB Demolition of Cleveland began interior demolition of the former Tiffany’s building in Brookfield on July 9. Brookfield Board of Education has bought the building to convert it into a career-technical education and community center.
The former owner, the Winner family, had already removed many of the lighting fixtures and other items it thought of value. KMB is removing the walls panels, ceiling tiles, stage, flooring, partitions, remaining kitchen equipment, bar, duct work and exterior features such as the Tiffany’s lettering, according to the demo plan prepared by Team 8e Architecture of Canfield. The building is to be left in “broom-clean condition.”
KMB expects to take about 10 days to complete the job.
KMB was hired June 25 on a bid of $47,500.
The board has not solicited bids for renovation of the center.
