Brookfield Local School District’s Winterfest returns Dec. 14 but under new management.
The seasonal event was created by Megan Rodgers to raise money for the high school drama club. Now that Rodgers has stepped down as drama adviser, Brookfield Band Boosters has taken it over and will be the primary financial beneficiary.
“I’m excited,” said Angelica Wiseman, who is planning Winterfest for the boosters. “I know it’s been a pretty big staple in this community.”
Winterfest will feature a craft and vendor show, photos with Santa, a paint-your-own ornament activity, 3D printing, a bake sale, kids games, the Smokey’s Patty-Wagon food truck, a basket raffle and Sip-and-Paint sessions at 2 and 4 p.m.
The Boy Scouts will be on hand to recruit new members, and the school STEM program will have activities to occupy the kids while their parents shop, Wiseman said.
Winterfest runs from 1 to 6 p.m.
Wiseman, who also coordinates the boosters’ comedy shows, said she enjoys planning events.
“I hope to continue to do it for years to come,” she said.
Vendors who would like to participate can call Wiseman at 330-553-7177.
