A man who was wanted by Brookfield police for more than 10 years was able to plead to lesser charges to resolve the case.
Jarrod R. Lehman, 42, of Massillon, was driving a minivan that had been reported stolen from Massillon on Oct. 4, 2015, when he fled Sharon and South Pymatuning police into Brookfield, traveled all over the township violating various traffic laws, and headed back into Pennsylvania, where he was later arrested near Mercer, Brookfield police said.
Brookfield police took Lehman into custody March 5 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of receiving stolen property filed by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department.
Appearing in Trumbull County Eastern District Court on March 26, Lehman pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and reckless operation. More serious charges of fleeing police and criminal damaging were withdrawn, but he agreed to pay costs for those counts. Lehman was sentenced to a $150 fine.
