Carlos Hensley, 71, of 7925 Service Ave., pleaded guilty Feb. 17 to a charge of failing to stop for an accident. He was sentenced April 21 by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald Rice to 90 days in jail, 3 years of probation and to pay $31,600 in restitution.
Hensley was eastbound on Warren Sharon Road July 26 when his SUV crossed the center line and hit a westbound motorcycle driven by Shawn G. Elliot, 46, of Niles, with a passenger, Deborah Gordon, 49, of the same address, Ohio Highway Patrol said. Elliot and Gordon were taken to a hospital by Brookfield Fire-EMS. Hensley fled the scene, police said.
