A Hubbard man who threw a woman to the ground, breaking her wrist, has been sentenced to an alternative sentencing program that strives to reduce the risk that he will end up in the criminal justice system again.

Ryan J. Latimer, 29, pleaded guilty Jan. 20 to a charge of felonious assault. Brookfield police said he threw a 58-year-old woman to the ground on July 4, 2025, in the 7300 block of Stewart Sharon Road after a day of drinking.

Trumbull County Common Plea Court Judge Ronald Rice sentenced Latimer April 7 to 3 years of probation, which includes a stay in the Northeast Ohio Community Alternative Program, Warren, also known as NEOCAP. The program addresses education, employment, substance abuse and other issues, according to its website.

Latimer also was sentenced to pay $550 restitution to the victim.
