A Masury man is in Trumbull County jail, accused of attempting to burn down the duplex he lived in, and which had two toddlers inside, following a dispute with his wife this morning.
Police were called to the scene just before 10 a.m. where they interviewed visitors at 8216 Roberts St., who said they witnessed a verbal dispute between Bradley J. Prow, 37, of that address, and his wife, police said..
Angry that his wife left in a car following the dispute, Prow retrieved a 5-gallon can of gasoline from a garage, entered the home and started dumping the gas inside, saying he was going to “burn the house down,” police said. Two children, ages 2 and 3, were sleeping inside, they said.
The visitors intervened and removed the children to a safe location, police said.
Prow fled the scene, but was located in Youngstown a short time later, police said. He is being held on two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of attempted aggravated arson, police said.
Brookfield fire and emergency medical personnel responded and evacuated the remaining residents of the duplex and disconnected gas and electric services until a disaster recovery service can make the home habitable again.
