The Grove Street Block Party in and around the Brookfield Public Library on May 30 was a “resounding success,” said library Manager Amanda Murphy.
“Our door count was more than 600 people, which was about (attendance for) the previous two years combined,” she said.
The count only includes the number of people who entered the library. It does not include anyone who, say, went to the car show on the green in Brookfield Center and never made it to the library.
Events included a touch-a-truck, Outback Ray’s animal show, Nate the Great’s magic show, food trucks and a book sale, which was a big draw, Murphy said.
It was the third year for the library-sponsored event.
