Brookfield Board of Education has approved a three-year contract with the Brookfield Association of School Employees, the union of about 35 staff members who are not teachers.
Agreement on the three-year contract, which the board approved July 22, was reached over a negotiating period of two days. The pay hikes of 0 percent the first year and 2 percent in years two and three mirror those in the teacher’s contract, which was approved in June, said Supt. Toby Gibson. The pact runs from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2029.
“Went very well, very amicable,” said district Treasurer Jordan Weber. “I think we came up with a good agreement that worked for everyone.”
In addition to the financial package, the contract “cleaned up a lot of language that really makes it easier for us as administration to handle things and for the employees to know what to expect in terms of scheduling, staffing levels, things like that,” Weber said.
“They’re just little odds and ends,” Gibson said. “There was nothing major. That’s why it only took two days.”
