The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District has opened its household hazardous waste recycling center at 5138 Enterprise Road, Warren.

The center is open for appliance and electronic recycling from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The center will be open for household hazardous waste, appliances and electronics from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, and from 9 a.m. to noon on these Saturdays: May 4, June 1, Aug. 3 and Sept. 7.

Household hazardous waste includes oil, batteries, oil-based paints, fluorescent lights, solvents, gasoline, pesticides, herbicides and various other cleaners and products used in residential homes.

Only two televisions will be accepted at a time.

Medical waste, smoke detectors, joint compound and latex paint are not accepted.

The center closes Oct. 30.
