Brookfield Fire Chief David Masirovits opens a hydrant at the scene of a car fire in 2020.

Brookfield trustees have granted a new three-year contract to Fire Chief David Masirovits.

The contract approved May 23 is retroactive to Jan. 1. His prior three-year contract expired Dec. 31.

The contract sets Masirovits’ pay at $68,900 this year, $73,034 next year and $77,511 in 2025. He had made $65,000 a year under the previous pact.

The pact reduces his sick leave from 7 hours a pay period to 4.6 hours, and the maximum hours from 1,680 to 1,440.

Masirovits gets four personal days a year – up from three – and $2,000 a year for maintaining his paramedic certification – up from $1,750.

The trustees have made an effort to get employees to pay more of the employee portion of their pension fund contributions, and Masirovits will pay 8.12 percent this year, 10.12 next year and 12.25 percent in 2025.
