Two recent graduates of Brookfield High School and another teen were taken to hospitals following an alcohol-related crash Tuesday night on Warren Sharon Road in Brookfield, Ohio Highway Patrol said.
Although the injuries to driver Michael A. Isco, 18, of 840 Crestwood Drive NE, Brookfield, and front seat passenger Aaris M. Williams, 18, of 7837 Chestnut St., Masury, were suspected to be serious by police, Brookfield Fire Chief David Masirovits said they walked to the ambulance on their own.
Looking at the extent of the damage to the car, Masirovits said they were lucky the injuries were not worse.
Logan B. Nichols, 18, of 7909 Budd St., Masury, also was taken to a hospital, police said.
Isco has been charged with drunken driving and failing to maintain control of the car.
Police said the crash occurred at 8:47 p.m. east of Yankee Run Golf Course. Rain was falling when the westbound car went off the right side of the road, across two driveways, and hit a tree, police said.
